Norah Jones is one of my favorite singers of all time. Her voice is so soothing you can listen to her entire albums while working. If there is a song that always pops up in my head while cleaning are the words, ” I don’t why I didn’t come,” but of course your significant other is not thinking about an action as in come on over, but a movement so that tune may mean something different for lovers and it’s all good.  Upon surfing my Twitter account @LiteraryDish again, I came across Tavis Smiley tweet this time where he mentions ….

Norah Jones was born Geethali Shankar in Brooklyn on March 30, 1979 to Sue Jones and Ravi Shankar, the legendary Indian sitar player. At the age of 4, she and her mom moved to groovy Grapevine, Texas where she started singing in the church choir at an early age, while learning to play the piano, guitar and alto saxophone.

At 16, she changed her name to Norah Jones while attending Booker T. Washington High School. After graduation, she majored in piano at the University of North Texas until she decided to return to New York City to form a band. In 2002, she made a mellow debut with “Come Away with Me,” a universally-acclaimed CD which won 8 Grammy Awards and is the best-selling jazz album of all time at over 20 million copies and counting.

Keri Hilson Makes Fire in the Studio and Almost Burns Down Her Home with Electrical Fire

This week I was on Twitter a lot passing time from a trip that was rather boring. I am a New Yorker and truly appreciate the hustle of New Yorkers. What you see is what you get even though there are many surprises daily!

No offense, but I can never return to those days when I use to listen to my then living grandparents talk about slavery, protests, violence and Dr. Martin Luther King,Jr.

The stories are way too long and I prefer to read about world history in a book sometimes. Actually, reading a book is a great activity while drying your hair under the dryer, polishing your own toe nails, staying alert while cooking  and doing your one hour stair master routines if you own one in your home gym. Good for you.

Kimora Lee announced she is leaving Baby Phat on Twitter last night, a clothing line she’s been the image of for more than 15 years. The mega and very successful Hip Hop clothing line was conceived upon the buy out of her then rap pioneer husband , music and fashion mogul, Russell Simmons who left his Phat Farm line to work on new projects and realization that Kimora Lee’s new line was more in demand.

Like Baby Phat, Phat Farm represented a younger audience. Kimora Lee now merges onward with a more mature line called Kouture for young women to her own age and beyond and Russell Simmons spearheads the Argyle line both appealing to more mature consumers, but representative of post Hip Hop baby boomer style. Both former lines were as fresh and on point as the market allowed, but rather expensive.

Already a hit sensation among music listeners throughout the internet,  Sonyae Elise’latest hit, Human Error, is a classic. The video concept is surreal and well constructed. Sonyae Elise asked me if I had ever experienced the kind of heartbreak as portrayed in the video, and let’s just say I watched the video in its entirety and loved it.

Arrivals at Screen Gems “Takers” Premiere at Arclight Cinema Cinerama Dome in Hollywood California on August 4th featured are T.I., Chris Brown, Snoop Dog, Keri Hilson and Lala Vazquez.

T.I.’s stream line silver tie and light gray suit looks dapper and distinguished. Chris Brown plays up his image in the movie with leopard  sneaks against all black shirt and casual pants, but jazzes it up with a scarf tie and great color contrast that pops. Snoop Dog clashes a green t-shirt against a playful light blue baseball jacket like he’s arrived to see the movie and ‘forget y’all I’m Snoop.’
