Even with the undisputed and unassuming best album of the year with hits like, “Love in the Club” and “Moving Mountains,” just two songs earning  Usher “The Royal Ush”  the crown as the King of R&B, his album sales didn’t measure up to recording rap artist   King of Hip Hop  Lil Wayne’s millions in album sales.

Usher’s “Here I Stand” album only sold 500,000 units the first week leaving to question if his album should have been called, “Here I Fall!” and no pun intended, but “the Ush’s” career needs a major comeback with a brand new album possibly by next year or Usher’s shine may be stolen without warning by artists like Trey Songz, Mario, Ne-Yo and Chris Brown who have mastered his style, dance moves and attire thanks to carefully watching “The Ush” who has been quickly demoted as the “Godfather of R&B.”

So the big million dollar question is what went wrong, who is to blame and what should Usher do before his reign continues to plummet?

Disilgold Soul analyzed fatal mistakes Usher may have made that may be responsible for his decline in sales and die hard fans are not going to like this list:

1. Usher chose a family over his fans and nothing is wrong with this, but he put his business out there, a no no for longevity in the business of music.  As an artist, one should remain as single as possible and even if not single, deny rumors they are in a relationship or this not only takes an artist off the market, but ends his career. Fans, especially young ones need a smidgen of hope that they can be swept off their feet by Usher at a concert. Young girls dream of fairytales and very often with their idols.

2. The world fell in love with Usher’s adorable mother who helped catapult Usher’s career. While Usher may have thought he was too much under his mother’s influence and decisions which folks actually  respected and admired that mother and son connection, Usher may have wanted to show his independent side.

3. Upon getting married, the wrong words regarding his relationship with Chilli, ” a music icon” and member of one of the top grossing female groups of  all time whose light can’t be dimmed no matter what media says, made folks lose a bit of respect for how he handled the situation media wise. The right thing to do in any relationship and no matter how women can be turn coats and get underneath your skin because they may feel dejected after a relationship, a man should always be a man and respect a woman he’s been in a past relationship with. Plus, there was nver any closure to the public between him and Chili and with Usher getting married soon after, this made folks think he was the culprit for the break-up. His prior album, Confessions, gave everything away. Shame on  Usher!

4. Usher also, has been toying with his fans by letting his woman nip his ear and kiss him in public which is tacky and disrespectful. Now Jada and Wil are doing it and more are expected to follow course. A woman should never give the impression of being trampy or lose around a celebrity man. Folks get jealous, and while Tameka is a beautiful lady who is just showing support which grown-up folks get, his fans are pissed off. No one wants seconds. Folks will always know Tameka’s lips have been on his face. Yuck!

5. Usher’s style and music has changed. He’s the one who introduced his own dance moves and sound which clearly was not a fabrication of Michael Jackson or the late James Brown. This kid actually had his own thing going. You can’t expect your audience to grow up that hasn’t actually grown up, but got younger. Once you’re old, you’re old.

While Usher has matured and grown as an artist, he still looks youthful regardless of the beard and little baby fat that with a full tour sheds in months and these artists are back to their cut up physiques.  Usher has to blame himself for being the monster of R&B. He created or brought it back and then got too hot to handle what he started. He let artists like Sisquo who has come and gone provoke comments of competition. When you are the best, there is no competition. And now Usher’s doing it again with these young artists he’s actually helping them by acknowledging he has competition instead of facing it head on and just being the best. If Rihanna can do it, anyone can do it! She clearly has taken over and Beyonce’ stepped down and let her little sis, Solange step in and she’s going to be Beyonce’s competition. Well, that is another story.

So what should Usher do so he can return to international status as the King of R& B and not by sound alone, but in dollar sense? We believe he needs to make less appearances with Tameka. Usher is an artist. Why should Tameka be in his light zone at all? She’s not an artist and she hasn’t been married long enough to Usher to get all of that shine without a thorough examination by America over a course of time of her support behind the scenes. Sean Diddy Combs made that mistake posing in Essence with the mother of his kids and now hes’ up and about with Cassie. That picture doesn’t look good when everyone knows that was Ryan Leslie’s girl. There’s a song that proves it and we won’t tell.

Overall….

When fans find it hard to disassociate the artist from his wife or mate, there is a problem. Kanye quickly dismissed that association with his former girlfriend.  This is like Michelle Obama or her children taking over interviews which is a big NO, NO! Barack is not in office yet. This can cause major damage because facial expressions and words alone or mannerisms say a whole lot to fans during interviews. The wrong perception by just one person is actually the perception by millions.

Tameka needs to find something else to do and enjoy her life as the wife of a celebrity music icon. It’s called discipline. Let your man shine in his own light. She could easily make millions writing a book or novel and just doing her own thing. By right, she looks like a star herself and is an excellent role model for black women style wise and how she carries herself, but she’s trying to be Ms. Usher.

 Next to last, Usher’s single is not in line with his current life status. Why the hell does he want to be in a club? Can someone tell me or did he read my novel, TEKILA NIKA and is vying for a spot in the movie? Listen to the words of this song after you read my book. In fact, if you are one of the other 500,000 fans of Lil Wayne who didn’t buy Usher’s album, buy his album today. It’s thorough and magnificently produced from beginning to end, but something is wrong with the single, Love in this Club. You figure it out. I guess the jam was sooo hot, Usher decided to include it even if it risked the perception of him by fans.

Lastly, Usher should rehire his mother as his manager, plain and simple. They were the bomb working together and that is his legacy. I can’t wait for the old Usher to return with his boy dancers in the back, beard GONE, the cut up classic abs no other artist quite owned like Usher and of course, the dance and moves that clearly blow away all acrobat artists. Usher is the most classically trained dancer on the market. That boy can sing and dance in the rain.

Even Chris Brown with his racy full throttle moves can’t out dance Usher. Everyone knows this. Adorable Chris has the energy of Usher of yesteryear, but as far as grace, discipline and style,  Uncle Ush wins.

Well, being that Usher is a sensitive guy who gets mad at anything written about him, we had a lawyer look over our article and there isn’t a darn thing the USH can do but take pointers and successfully take back his reign. We’ll be waiting.

By the time people read this article, his sales will increase by 50% and we’ll prove that. You won’t believe this. It’s like a late summer effect, but we have to wait until Lil Waynes tat mouthed self gets out of here. Love ya, Lil Wayne, but just quit with the tats before you look like slain meat. Usher may be able to bring R&B back after the heat subsides and folks slow down to some real music .

Usher is actually at the top of that category, but it’s totally up to him to get out of his fairytale family life sedation and euphoria which we know is all blissful and return to being the artist. Janet needs to up her game too. Wil Smith needs a new album and LL COOL J better represent. Iknow what I am talking about when I predict the rebirth of music icons. I even think Sean Diddy Combs has a shot at making his best album of all time and despite pop shots at his rap style. Just about everyone copied his style too.
