The strength of an artist is the ability to put another diva on without any competition and just keep doing your thing. Beyonce’ never responded to Beyonce vs Rihanna rumors and why both are at the top. You are what you support. Talent recognizes talent and they are both great. It took a while to give Rihanna props because I wasn’t sure if her voice was mastered with a vocorder, but my resources admit Bey and RiRi can sing. Now on with a collaborative tour? Just suggesting…because divas are becoming a rarity!

Ask Heather: Why Whitney Houston Can Never Make a Comeback

whitney-houston-2009a

It appears like just yesterday the world forgave actors, actresses, radio hosts, producers, celebrities and musicians under the influence. Many go on to win Grammy’s, Oscars, get movie star rolls of a lifetime, tv shows and million dollar book deals.

People were intrigued by fallen personalities in the past because media over sensationalized the negativity they received, thus making them the comeback underdog. However, the sad truth is that with the few people who do make it to the top as drug users and get to  blame the industry for their demise, there are gifted artists and people who have completed college, received their degrees, never touched alcohol in their lives and/or fallen prey to drugs with talent and no one wants to give druggies a second chance.

If you can make the decision to ruin your life then you can make the decision to get off the drugs and stay off them.  That’s like forgiving slave masters who whipped the hell out of young black kids who were tired to work from sun up to sun down because they had to get that bail of cotton out to the north to feed their slaves and grow their plantation. There are just some things people who work and earn a living are not going to support anymore and even if one likes their work or feels sorry for them.

The music ain’t the same when you listen to it years later. It’s not music from a gifted soul, but a soul under the influence who had it all and lost it all because they made the decision to destroy it all and you know what Whitney… that’s your problem.  I really no longer care if she comes back or not. As a just launching media personality on the stage with her at Radio City Music Hall alongside her mother, Cici Houston I an never say I was proud to witness that one moment in life no one would ever get the opportunity today to experience.

That’s what you call good fate, but it is only as good as the karma that a media resource passes on and I am not convinced that Whitney Houston is back, so for the record… if she’s not back by now than Whitney Houston Can Never Make a Comeback. If I am wrong then we’ll see her  on tour and off the monster and looking like her old self.  Waiting for Whitney… one of the greatest voices in the World… !  Tears.  No more Whitney!.. no voice!!!  She’s gone! There will never be another. Bye bish!

Is Jennifer Angry and Is She Singing to Someone In Particular on Ellen?

This song and Jennifer Hudson’s actions seem real personal.  Someone has pissed her off here and I think I know who.

Wow! If words in a song could kill we’d be all dead rightaboutnow!  Every time Jennifer sings Where You At don’t you feel like a dagger is cutting you from the screen? This bish can sing. You become paralyzed after listening to Jenny.

Lil Kim went online via Twitter to mention that her first 100,ooo copies of Black Friday would be autographed. Being that rare autographs can be worth hundreds I was not surprised to find out that she sold 20 and more copies of her album to over 20,000 fans which is just about right.  She can now triple this figure by sporting her high sales which will entice more sales. She utilized a pen name, Kimmy Blanco, but also, has a private email list serve.  You didn’t think she has a team backing a legendary icon and staple in the Hip Hop industry.

El Debarge Was Never Rehabilitated and Bound to Relapse

icon1 Posted by prqueen in BREAKING NEWS on 02 15th, 2011 | 1,290 Comments

Earlier today I got news from EURWEB.com that El Debarge checked himself back into rehab and as a result he was replaced with Musiq Soulchild who unsurprisingly is not the headlining act, nor Ledisi, but rather KEM whose work is impeccable, but I will be honest…. If I was El Debarge, one of  the top singers of his era sidelining for a newcomer  I would bail out of my tour too and disappear.

Just because his album is called, Second Chances does not mean he wants to play second in a concert series. That means he doesn’t get bank and can be tossed around as talent and it’s time for folks to treat this man as the star he was before the politics of the music industry drove him into a world of drugs.

Diamonds are Not a Girls Best Friend Anymore

63509591disilgold2152011102636pmThis guy is now every woman’s best friend and his name is Ceelo. The guy with the classic hit, F-YOU to put in bluntly. These are the guys who win your trust, are sincere and maybe not the tallest guy, but they are always hanging out with the pretty ladies.

Every RnB male singer needs to understand that this guy Ceelo is their competition. I kid you not, almost every female voted his performance the best at the Grammy’s along with Gwenyth Paltrow. Okay, who knew she could sing. Their skit was thoroughly entertaining with the puppets as background singers.

Grammy Tribute to Aretha Franklin Was Not Good Enough

Here is Aretha with Mariah Carey at a DIVAS show. Not one of those singers came close to The Queen’s Voice at the Grammy’s. They were too busy trying to look cute and outdo one another instead of pay real homage to Aretha. We need a redo with Mary J. Blige, Monica, Keyshia Cole and Beyonce.” I SAID IT!

Countdown to Janelle Monae’s New Hairstyle

Predicting that Janelle Monae (Young Lena Horne)  is about to embark on a new hairdo after this video gets 2 million hits. Folks everywhere are real mad at my comments about Janelle Monae’s hairdo.   I Just want her to live up to the words of this song and free that tied up bun on her head.  Just cut it in an afro already short or long. Anything, but this tied up look that my great grandmother was forced to wear as a maid while cooking.  I just can’t take it folks. We’ve come so far. Please ladies don’t start tying up your hair like this.

Some folks will also say I am only saying this to direct attention toward Janelle Monae who performed on the Grammy’s last night to outstanding ovation, but everyone gave props to Ceelo’s FU song and Rihanna’s barely there performance in newspaper headlines today.

Janelle Monae was virtually absent in every publication, so you know what Janelle, it’s time to give them the real you! That Gumbo hairstyle is not you. Let me know is forcing you to wear your hair like this. You know Chrisette Michele mentioned they wanted her to stick with one look., so I am just a little alarmed here.  Now if she is alright with this tied up hairdo then I will just leave it alone and never do another post about Janelle Monae.  At least Nicki and Lady Gaga change up their hair do’s.

My staff better get back from their Valentine’s week break real quick before I get too opinionated on here.

TheHipHopDiva.com Attacks TheLiteraryDiva.com- It’s A Media Showdown

icon1 Posted by prqueen in BEST OF MEDIA on 02 15th, 2011 | 507 Comments

Uh oh, Heather Covington, the Literary Diva had some words to exchange with “The Hip Hop Diva,” and it wasn’t pretty folks. Looks like Heather commented about Janelle Monae’s hair do and the Hip Hop Diva attacked her openly on twitter. Heather than spit back with her alter ego, The Literary Diva and called the Hip Hop Diva all kind of names  and “the Hip Hop Diva” threatened Heather Covington with words, “Unless you want to see me in person, watch what you say.”
