Letoya Luckett is a natural beauty on the set of Essence Magazine’s latest photoshoot which I am very familiar with being that Lettice Graham, my first interview guest at Disilgold SOUL Magazine, filled us in on the gracious hospitality of the magazine when Susan Taylor of Editor-in-Chief. Since then she’s graced the cover of Michael Cunningham’s beauty guide, Queens and is a Golden Image Award Winner. If I am not mistaken you can check out Lettice Graham in the January 2006 Issue of Essence featuring Angela Bassette on the Cover. The cover is also, featured in the Kennedy Center in Harlem so that children will always have a role model like Lettice Graham who is now 84.
Literary Dishcom Reviews Power Video featuring Kanye West
Today Kanye West debuted his new video, POWER, on MTV which received mixed reviews. On one spectrum, the video seems to idolize self-glorification and retribution among angels mixed with sensuality and beautification amid gravitating female nudity, while others may argue that his still life portrait in motion is nothing more than coveted exploitation of the female anatomy draped in borderline pornography.
I personally, believe it is one of those dreams young thugs have growing up and Kanye gets to live out his fantasies of being adorned by dozens of women in a video.I doubt Kanye’ will ever live up to that fantasy in real life because Hip Hop artists often sing about what they wish they could have, but can’t have, but it’s a pretty good song an I would say among the top ten out there.
The scorned Hip Hop star nearly ruined his career to the point of no return at several award shows so it seems, but simultaneously made daily headlines, thus gaining POWER as the most discussed topic of the year. He masterfully built momentum with a iron clad website showcasing his depiction of the world, and now sheepishly returns as the bad seed of Hip Hop with an over-sized doped chain dressed in classic everyday hood wear, and exerting his authority in the industry on top of extreme masculinity without apologies.
“POWER,” is a song everyone thought was just a fly-by -night experiment and reintroduction of a Hip Hop icon fallen from disgrace that has regained its momentum as the undisputed anthem of indeed, HIP HOP POWER. Here’s to Kanye West who’s self-inflicting shrine of POWER may very well be his destiny if he plays his cards right, maintains discipline with his new emergence onto the Twitter community that was dying a slow death of immorality, and if he can continue to give people what they want… and that’s powerful HIP HOP music. Kanye is certainly back and indeed, never left, but this is one of those big comebacks you can’t deny. It’s up to Kanye to handle the power he’s been dealt and people have already started a countdown clock to Kanye’s next meltdown. I have faith that he is indeed going to claim Elvis’s reign. As a former pscychoanalyst I have come to the conclusion that Mel Gibson may be reaching that stage in a man’s life no man wants to face. I will let you figure out what that is. It’s one of the most critical stages of a relationship that without love and understanding can lead to divorce. Love still goes on and couples can find other ways to romance when that time comes and one of the reasons why Mel GIbson is ranting at his very young girlfriend, Oksana, for possibly being ungrateful of their relationship or rather blaming outwardly because he may be jealous of her having to nurture her child. Mothers sometimes need training on how to handle a man’s emotions when a new born arrives. You’d be surprised just how envious they become.

Lil Kim highlighted that she was on a tour and Nicki MInaj passed by and cut her eyes and that she was supposed to be on an album with her, but Nicki Minaj was chosen, plus she thinks it is clear that she’s imitating her with a past lollipop pose. Then she went on to say that she wants everyone to follow her. While sincere and as sweet as a button, she still won’t get Nicki MInaj to pay any more homage than she has because the interview has excerpts of Lil Kim making fun of the Nicki’s voice. That part just added more fuel.

Recently, I read a report that 7 out of 10 marriages or relationships in America will fail at some point and be challenged by various factors from financial stress, family matters and irreconcilable differences to changes in one’s personal preference of a mate, work situations, choice of careers, disputes over children, health issues and over all changes in a mates physical appearance. No longer do the words, ” ‘Till death do you apart” apply in most relationships. People are sustaining relationships that bring them happiness or ending relationships for aforementioned reasons above, but not so fast.

Personally, I think her choice totally frees the music artist to focus on other things less constricting in her life like her new trim and fit body, personal style, acting career and upcoming book.
The style frames her face well and accents her high cheekbones and most prominent trait. She also, has flawless skin and it will be interesting to see how Janet plays up her eyes which pop with color.

ASK HEATHER: Do you think Halle Berry’s Frankie & Alice movie will get picked up for distribution?
Halle Berry’s film, Frankie & Alice premiered at the Cannes Film Festival not too long ago and received amicable reviews, but why wouldn’t the Oscar winner receive top reviews playing the role of a schizo stripper.
Halle Berry is clearly back as the role reminiscent of the character she played in a Spike Lee joint as a crack head.
What makes the film interesting to folks is that this Halle Berry post pregnancy and she hasn’t changed one bit. You clearly see that she is as serious actress as she began her career.
After a few hit and miss films like Cat Woman folks are anticipating that the film will get picked up by theaters, but it may happen although folks may typecast her role as a stereotypical depiction of another black woman like in the movie Precious.
Regardless, movie goers tend to flock to films that exhibit the demoralization of the black woman, because right now most images are so strong from Oprah to Michelle Obama, these roles can only humanize real life experiences of the side of a small segment of black women we’re afraid to see.
Just recently, Maia Campbell, the daughter of the late Bebe Moore Campbell, was the center of controversy and openly discussed by her mother in her books in regards to a daughter with split personality disorder.
I applaud Halle Berry for throwing herself into the barrel to portray yet another personality absent from films because folks are so narrow-minded they can’t face the truth about people they know.

Prince in no way has an ego over people using his trademarked name to pay tribute in articles so it seems and may believe use of his name empowers and strengthens his relevance in the music industry as one of the greatest performers of all time, but his bread and butter is his video footage so he has gone after entities like YOUTUBE and he maybe rather fussy about his photo images being used by media for any representation without permissions at events protected under copyright law. That makes him untouchable by media standards and even if I wanted to release my zoom lens shots of him at a perfomance featuring the original TLC members, Lisa, Chilli and T-Boz along with Christina Aguillera and the Royal Badness himself years ago at Madison Square Garden I could not without receiving a cease and decist letter, perhaps.
