In Hollywood, the versatile thespian’s stage and Shotokan karate training came in handy in helping him land a variety of roles. The accomplished actor/black belt’s long list of credits on his enviable resume’ include the Blade Trilogy, Jungle Fever, White Men Can’t Jump, U.S. Marshals, Waiting to Exhale, Mo’ Better Blues, New Jack City, Murder at 1600, The Fan, Demolition Man, Passenger 57, To Wong Foo and The Art of War.
Yesterday, my house was snowed in about 12 feet and power lines down, but I managed to browse the web with the remaining battery juice from my laptop and came across Letoya Luckett’s update on Myspace at the top of my site. She mentioned she had a new single called, Good to Me. As a lady who asks every celeb, what’s your favorite music as seen in hundreds of interviews syndicated in all major media outlets with Kam Williams and in my GET PERSOULNAL Interviews on www.disilgold.com which you can now see featured at the top of the site from here on out because I have completed my publishing projects , I had to find out what Letoya Luckett was up to since she landed a lead role as Angie in the movie Preacher’s Kid. I am always routing for black women in film because it is a rarity. I was there to support Taraji P. Henson with a release of her first major interview top media pucked up on and as expected, she took off.
Rate this video right here ladies and gents featuring Letoya Luckett and a cameo appearance by Model/Actor Keston Karter. Want to find out more about Keston Karter. Check out his first hour interview ever on www.Disilgold.com under Celebrity Interviews. We’re loading some more unreleased pics soon.
A lot of women were talking about Greg Oden’s nude pics leaked online and sent via viral mail to Greek sorority sisters. Folks opened the email and puked because 1. Greg Oden is not your average brother 2. That’s a NBA 1st draft pick who has not even played for a year 3. Folks say you can tell he was primping in the mirror admiring his package and 4. he obviously trusted someone who sent the photos all over the net and didn’t even bother to black mail him and 5. Isn’t he a married man? Shame on you GREG!
In the wake of the Haitian earthquake, CNN’s Soledad O’Brien rushed to the region to deliver the same sort of high-quality, eyewitness coverage that she has dependably broadcast in the past on location after location from such disasters area as the Indian Ocean Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina. Because of her seemingly effortless style and her People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People List looks, what tends to get lost about this intrepid, Emmy-winning reporter is that she’s also a Harvard grad with a keen intellect, a razor sharp wit, a great sense of humor and an ever-inquiring mind.
I’ve interviewed a bunch of bright people in my day and, trust me, Soledad might very well be the brightest. You’ll instantly see what I mean, if you ever have the pleasure of engaging her in conversation one-on-one. Until then, I hope that this revealing tete-a-tete about the Haiti relief effort effectively conveys the essence of her brilliant mind and very likable spirit.
Soledad is never one to shy away from a difficult or probing question, but is rather refreshingly frank and forthcoming in addressing in considerable depth whatever issue she’s asked to address. That’s the reason I sought her out in the first place to get the scoop on what’s really happening in Haiti.
Keep in mind that this interview was conducted soon after her return to the States, while she was cooking for and frequently distracted by a house full of rambunctious kids, and she even paused briefly from our conversation to pull one of her 5 year-old twin’s baby teeth, all without ever missing a beat.
One of my fav basketball players of all time besides Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Shaq and Lebron James is of course, Michael Jordan. My fam broke several tvs when Michael did his thing for finals.

I was searching online for all of the greatest artists of the 1980’s, but found the top artists of the 1970’s and like a mere stroke of fate, news of Teddy Pendegrass passing away at age 59 popped up. At first, I thought it was a fluke, but it is true that the soulful crooner had been suffering with colon cancer. I believe he was paralyzed from the waist down and wheel chair bound after a fateful car accident. Here is a video when he was a lead singer of this group called Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes. When you listen to the throwbacks from singers like Teddy Pendegrass it is so hard to listen to artists cds today from beginning to end. There are a few artists with his appeal to the women of his era, but need someone to write more quality music.
1 out of 100,000 men only attend the doctor for a regular physical, let alone a prostrate check-up. For many who get routine physicals, the beginning signs of Prostrate condition can be caught in time before Cancer develops and spreads.
A mysterious condition that inflicts men of all ages and is a leading cause of premature death of Black men, one well known figure in the African-American literary community shared his story with the world upon being diagnosed with Prostrate Condition last May.
Le Toya Luckett, the Houston singer with the Texan accent, made a name for herself as a Destinys Child Member of the original group. One of their all time classics was the cult hit, NO, NO, NO. Can’t believe my tape still works. Yes, I got my cassette tape back in the day when the Wiz was open.
As soon as the groups 1st album landed at No.1, the former members split up and were replaced with Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland. I have met them all, but Kelly is the nicest of the bunch because she wanted a copy of Literary Divas.Destinys Child took off with several hit albums resulting in more cult hits like “Survivor.” The group seemed to have found an everlasting formula for success, but that ended when Beyonce’ Knowles took off on a solo career. Destinys Child as in singular was destined and that child was Beyonce’. A modern day success story whom no one can take away her talent and contribution to the music industry from day one.
With talent shared among all members like Le Toya Luckett, Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland and Beyonce Knowles, explosve rumors circulated in media that top DJs were paid to not play music from departed artist, LeToya Luckett by Beyonce’s manager, Matthew Knowles. A bonafide TOP 5 album nationwide, LeToya Luckett has not been getting spins on air waves as expected and now folks are not only pointing the finger, but want answers. Payola is a federal crime punishable by imprisonment. B.E.T. uses a vote on procedure as most media to refer an artist on their popular BET 106& Park Countdown site, but as quickly as the song aired it seemed to disappear.
The question is, has media conglomerated to the point where no other artist can venture to the top unless controlled by the industry. I sort of feel sorry for Beyonce’ who millions of her hard working dollars go to her father by an original contract and has to go along with her father who yes, was instrumental in launching Beyonce’s talent, but whom you can’t blame for not taking sides with LeToya whose communication was cut off abruptly from Beyonce’.
A child is going to stick by their parent’s wishes. Beyonce’ may be a millionaire on her way to being a billionaire with hubby Jay Z, but she never really attended higher education, so Dad is the brain of her business transactions and still is. There is nothing wrong with skipping the school thing and gaining wisdom with life lessons if your talent brings you more wealth than it would have had you attended college. It’s a story we all know too well where girl groups rise to the top and as one becomes the bigger attraction, the other members who quickly exert their talent are shunned from shining or dropped. Two chiefs can’t run the show.
According to the Associated Press over 800,000 doses of H1N1 flu shots have been recalled. Reportedly, the vaccinations may not be strong enough to fight against the deadly flu virus.
“The federal Centers for Disease Control’s advice for parents worried that their child might have received an ineffective dose of the H1N1 vaccine? Don’t panic.“If a parent has a child who received this vaccine, they need to do absolutely nothing,” said CDC spokesman Tom Skinner. “But if they were recommended to get a second dose of the vaccine, which in this age group they were, they should be sure to get that second dose.”The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children ages 9 and under get two doses of the H1N1 vaccine, spaced about a month apart, to obtain the most protection against the virus. ”
