 LeBron James

The “More Than a Game” Interview

with Kam Williams

Headline: The Gospel According to King James

LeBron Raymone James was born on December 30, 1984 in Akron, Ohio to Gloria James, a 16 year-old single-mom seduced and abandoned by Anthony McClleland, an ex-con with no interest in parenting. Gloria did the best she could to raise LeBron on her own but that still meant moving frequently, living in the projects, and even temporarily surrendering custody of her son until she could get her finances straightened out.

Fortunately, LeBron found a sanctuary on the basketball court, where he would not only maximize his potential but forge lasting friendships with four teammates he would play with from junior high through high school: Dru Joyce III, Romeo Travis, Willie McGee and Sian Cotton. He was also very close to their coach, Dru’s dad, who would serve a critical role in shaping his character during his formative years as a father figure.

Of course, everyone knows that LeBron blossomed into a basketball phenom who skipped college and went straight to the NBA where in 2009 he became the youngest player ever to be named league MVP at the age of 24. But few are aware of how loyal, humble and unselfish a man he is as well.

To understand why LeBron has remained so grounded despite being nicknamed King James and being surrounded by all the trappings of overnight success, check out More Than a Game, an uplifting documentary directed by Kristopher Belman. This moving bio-pic chronicles the seven-year sojourn of the Fab Five, recounting both their basketball exploits and the personal challenges each had to face while collectively pursuing theirs hoop dreams.

Bo, Akon, Chris Tucker, Destin Tucker, Usher, Chris Brown, Polow Da Don, Tubby, Devyne Stephens and Young Jeezy attend the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Atlanta Hawks game at Philips Arena on December 29, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia. Surprisingly, Usher looks very calm after robbers broke into his car and stole 1 million in valuables on December 14th. According to TMZ, Usher may be worried about some unreleased tracks on his computer being leaked. The site only has a handful of African Americans on their blog roll, but are very much into Beyonce, Usher, Tyson, P. Diddy, Snoop Dogg, Barack Obam, Halle Berry, Oprah,  50 Cent and that’s about it.

He debuted a series of self-produced hits from his Harlem Brownstone online via IMEEM which is where I first discovered the artist’s strong production skills that didn’t sound like anything I had ever heard on the market., so I GOOGLE SEARCHED his work and found his MYSPACE site. The site was quite different from Ryan’s current monochromatic, “I’m just chillin’ and working site, but if you want more take a look at my own site!”

LiteraryDish.com Worldwide Exclusive- Tiger Woods is the New Sex Symbol of the Decade

tiger-woods-2010

by Heather “The Literary HEAT” Covington

www.Literarydiva.com

Is  Tiger Woods  bringing sexy back on purpose by accident? This new Vanity Fair Magazine cover couldn’t have arrived at a more critical time as folsk questioned if he would fall from grace  with humility or own up to his personality as a womanizer. He isn’t the first womanizer on earth and he won’t be the last.   Caught with 12+ mistresses and perhaps 25 more after you read this article, Tiger Woods sealed his fate as America’s Most Wanted Sex Symbol after this cover was prematurely leaked by media, and who now has women from all races, cultures and creed saying, Gawd Da-yum.

Who  knew the  Asiatic Black King of Golf was packing pecs, deltoids, triceps, 181/2 inch arms, smotth skin and a 4 pack presenting a realistic picture of how most men look 6 months out of the year. Someone needs to cast Tiger as the next Bruce Lee.  It is obvious from this cover that Tiger Woods is more than a golfer. I don’t know who  Annie Leibowitz is, but she has got to be a mistress, too. What man would let a woman take a pic like that unless he has the hots for her?  Like this  story, share your comments below  to  request it as a TOP STORY on Disilgold SOUL Magazine at www.Disilgold.com.

ASK HEATHER: How to Build a High-Traffic Blog Without Killing Yourself

Written by Heather Covington “The Literary HEAT”
Marketing Expert and CEO of www.disilgold.com

This week I got a question in my inbox asking, “How do you build a high-traffic blog without killing yourself?” so I searched the internet for someone who answers this question as a blog expert and came across Tim Ferris before stating my tips. I truly agree with this guy who mentions you don’t necessarily have to be the best writer, but have a voice and be passionate about what you are writing about. Also, write about the problem and not the person.

The long anticipated  music album, Grafitti, executively produced by Chris Brown, Tina M. Davis and Mark Pitts , arrived in stores nationwide on December 8th with two versions, a dual cd and dvd album and cd album only. Stores pushed the dual cd upfront with a $19.00 price tag, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Chris Brown’s youngest fans arriving after school did not know to request the cd  priced only at $9.99. The $9.99 price tag is what music stores now offer in New York on day one as an incentive for buying a new album on its release date.

Of course, die hard fans of Hip Hop buy their  Hip Hop cds first. Snoop Dog and 50 Cent  were capped neck to neck at no.1 and no.2 . A good turn out in full album cds is about 80,000 to 100,000.    This is the standard nowadays. Chris Brown easily sold 100,000 cds on day one which means he will sell a million or more before the holidays. There is a range of classic songs from almost every genre such as POP,  Soul RnB, Techno, Hip Hop infused with Swiss Beatz touch, trademark  love ballads and a few cuts to give Timbaland a run for his money. The range is so ecclectic and blends so well, it’s hard to believe that this album was just produced.

Grafitti pours out top hits back to back like  “I can Transform Ya” with Lil Wayne that took a while to grow on me, but is a solid hit that can’t be denied, “Crawl” is a commerical favorite among listeners  with  hypnotic lyrics, “So Cold” is a great song of redemption for this artist beautifully arranged track with light and sentimental piano accompaniment, “What I do” featuring Plies is one for the clubs and an undeniable anthem for fun times,  ”Famous” is dangerously personal and a rocker,”Take My Time” featuring Tank uses sexy drums and percussion to simulate an RnB hit reminiscent of a good ole’ Jodeci  vibe, but all his own and could mark his new signature sound for future albums, “I.Y.A.” is that MTV cut that will soar to number one faster than all of the other hits as a universal track, “Pass Out” with Eva Simons is one for the clubs and a head banger, “What” featuring  Trey Songz is right on time with this new Techno Rap vibe, “Lucky Me”  is a favorite because it starts with an African inspired touch that solidifies this  artist as someone who will be around for sometime, “Fallen” is definitely a Michael jackson inspired track with crossover appeal and of course, “I’ll Go” makes a personal statement that is so sentimental it’s a tear jerker.  He says if “He doesn’t come back your love was worth it!” With a range of artists like Esther Dean, Trey Songz, Ryan Leslie, Jermaine Jackson, James Jones, Tank, The Game, Eva Simons and Teyana Taylor, Chris Brown has got the world’s forgiveness in the “Palm of his hand.”

Chris Brown’s album hands down is clean, solid, easy to listen to, has a happy vibe filled with sentiment, flows with original beats and lyrical power embedded with gut wrenching top ballads making him a top contender for a Grammy next year. A redeemed man is Chris Brown and he’s back!
