EARLY SIGNS AT ESSENCE HONORS THAT JADA PINKETT AND WILL SMITH HAVE BEEN THROUGH HELL

Every woman has a story, but Jada Pinkett is giving clues that her hubby and her have had difficulties maintaining their presence and value in Hollywood way back since being honored by Essence Magazine. She tells the Essence audience to “DO YOU and touch the power within yourself to DO YOU!” If these two have officially broken up they are probably willing to save face so hubby, Will Smith’s Box Office success won’t be affected in upcoming movies.  Will can’t afford to lose all of Jada Pinket’s fans.

Lights, camera, action, Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozada cover Urban InK Magazine. At first glance, I expected a photo shoot with two egos against Luda’s MVP Hip Hop song, but as it turns out the couple was very humble. Ochocinco admitted he does push ups to make him look more pumped up for these photo shoots.

T.I. Returns Like He Never Left Swinging a Left Hook at Drake Plus First Interview!

T. I. says he is going to communicate with those people who stayed down with him when he was in jail on Twitter. He refers to his fans from both albums and Paper Trails as “Bank heads.” He is prepared to adopt his style to whatever is hot and you can hear that he clearly channels Drake. What’s amazing is his patience with his child who is rolling all over the chair while he is trying to complete his first interview since leaving the half way house.  A lot of people threw shade on T.I. who gets out of prison just in time for the Hip Hop Awards and word has it that he went back to his foundation music as represented in his new song, I’m Flexin which sounds major. He also, mentions that he has a new documentary coming to tv and fictional story, Power & Beauty.

Fans Say Fight Was Fixed as Floyd Mayweather Knocks Out Victor Ortiz After Referee Calls Break and Wins Fight

Boxer Victor Ortiz just made the weigh in at maximum weight of 147 pounds for his division and clearly looked the stronger of the two on fight night, but he practically gives his championship away.

Floyd Mayweather , the undisputed champion, may have won his 42nd match to Victor Ortiz, but fans of Ortiz are crying foul as Mayweather seized the opportunity to blindside Victor Ortiz right after the referee called break ad turned away. Ortiz at that moment obeyed the referee, put his hands down and was floored  by Mayweather with what could have been a fatal blow. It was the most ruthless moment in boxing history. Mayweather fans say that Mayweather punched Ortiz simultaneously during the call, but footage clearly shows the punch came a split second after the call. Nevertheless, Floyd Mayweather was granted a TKO sustaining his title and no one is complaining. Find out why….

Proof that Ortiz came out to abide by the rules can be seen during earlier footage at the weigh in the day before where Floyd Mayweather put his hands on Ortiz’s neck and proceeded to squeeze it with force to the point you see his neck veins bulging, but Ortiz uses his head only to butt him back and not his hands, for this would be an early technical violation that could lead to a fine perhaps. He then uses his head to attempt to butt Mayweather  in the head during the actual match, but maybe you didn’t see  when Mayweather clearly uses his “INNOCENT ELBOW” to jar  Ortiz in the head.  Playback the footage over and over. A lot of people never caught that, just Ortiz’s head jarring upward as he did during the weigh in. Elbows can hurt more than actually head butts and you could tell Ortiz’s actions were  reflex driven.

Floyd Mayweather, crowd  favorite was allowed to get away with his “INNOCENT ELBOW” move which was necessary to protect his face and a neck chokehold on Ortiz during the weigh in, but now people are wondering if it had been the other way around where Ortiz put his hands on him during the weigh in and/or if he got a punch in on a break call, and  then knocked out Floyd would he have been pardoned? Most likely not, and why this is one of those bitter sweet wins that cannot be declared a total victory.  When a referee looks away intentionally, a fighter lets down his guard showing there was an obvious break call and another fighter takes advantage of the situation and wins I say REMATCH.   Here the guys are during the weigh in…

Zoe Saldana Practices Fighting Techniques in New Film Columbiana + Red Carpet Premiere Pics

LiteraryDish.com Movie Club is attending Sony Pictures release of Columbiana which arrives in theaters August 26 starring Zoe Saldana. Already skeptics are debating over whether this pint-sized star’s role in this action-packed thriller has what it takes to kick butt in her role as Cataleya.

The director, Oliver Megaton,   mentions  he wanted the ‘skinny’ Zoe Saldana to  play the part and not so much a buff star ready to avenge her parent’s death. In the film, it’s the lead star’s intelligence that authenticates her role as an assassin as she sets out to kill a mobster. Other stars include, Amandla Stenberg, Calum Blue, Jordi Molla’, Max Martini, Cliff Curtis, Lennie James and more. The movies slogan is “Revenge is Beautiful” and LiteraryDish.com is predicting mega box office success for Zoe Saldana.

Read LiteraryDish.com 1st interview with Zoe Saldana before Avatar when she starred in Star Trek . Columbiana will be Zoe Saldana’s 1st  action thriller movie role as the lead actress and first role of such kind for a Dominican actress.  Are you attending Columbiana? Will have to await and find out if America is ready for a action hero of the feminine and petite type on the big screen clearly proving that mind over matter is the new action here.

In featured video footage, Zoe Saldana practices fighting techniques and remarkable has better form than seasoned pros.

3 New Male Actors Media Should Follow On their Way to the Top

Cardell Jackson because he makes an scurl look natural and I see a new Billy Dee Williams Hot actor on the way.

Lesley Terrell because a smile like this on the big screen is going to convey emotion that is authentic. Love all that personality.

Kristofer Gordon because he’s big and brawny and could play a thriller character in a minute with those devil arched eyebrows. Kind of scary and cuteness at the same time.

Why Black Women Do Not Share Same Stereotypes for Dark Skinned Black Men as Black Men Do Toward Dark Skinned Women

Black male singers no matter what complexion are celebrated, admired and revered as handsome by black women from Chris Brown and Ginuwine light skinned to Trey Songz and Lloyd brown skin to Idris Elba and Singer Javier dark skin. Why? Most black women find it difficult to find a man period and so, having fetishes is out of the question. Besides, media has successfully iconized black skin in all shades.

On the other hand, because there is a 100-1 ration of availability of black men to each women due to so many incarcerations, unemployed, homeless and many of our black men gay or transgender and therefore, off the market, black women may weigh their options with less scrutiny. However, it was shocking to find out how many black men will not date a dark skinned woman and still stuck on stereotypes portrayed in movies as far back a Spike Lee’s School Daze movie, objectifying light skin sorority sisters against dark skinned sisters.

This documentary by Bill Duke’s, entitled DARK GIRL, conjures up Tameka Raymond’s article on Huffington Post , “She’s Pretty for a Dark Skinned Girl.” While the term has been said millions of times by so many warped minded individuals, an author who claimed to have created the cliche statement accused the ex wife of Usher of infringement which was instead of bringing light to the situation in America, divided authors and celebrities with wider audiences instead of creating a monumental conversation on a broader level.

Now Bill Duke gets to continue the conversation and I will say, the Dark Girl documentary is going to blow the roof off of a new form of racism that is no longer black vs white, but black vs brown vs light skin. Just when we though racism went out the door, it is going to hit cinema at full force and have people asking where are the dark skinned women in HIP HOP, MUSIC, MEDIA and HOLLYWOOD. I really hadn’t noticed until now and am very concerned on this topic now that Mo’Nique’s Show is being cancelled on BET. She is a dark skinned and beautiful role model on television. Also, I never have seen a dark skinned woman host BET’s 106 & Park. Amanda was brown with Native American features. And- where are the black journalists on tv. None are dark skinned.

The only show that embraces black women is THE VIEW with Whoopie and Sherrie Shepard. I think I love Barbara Walters. She is the only media icon who crossed the barriers and took a chance and has the number one day time show.  I know there has been drama on the show before, but I always liked the image of the view from variation in ages, complexions and background of hosts. In fct, I wonder what she would say about this documentary and one man saying he would never date a dark skinned woman. Remember, he is just one person and not all men feel this way.

Ryan’s Hope -The “Crazy, Stupid, Love” Interview + Hollywood It Girls Zoe|Lauren|Tatyana|Nicki

Ryan Gosling

The “Crazy, Stupid, Love” Interview

with Kam Williams

Born in Ontario, Canada, on November 12, 1980, Ryan Gosling has been honored for his work in a broad range of roles in both independent films and major motion pictures. In 2007, he earned both an Academy Award nomination and an Independent Spirit Award in the Best Actor category for his compelling portrayal of a dedicated but troubled inner-city teacher in “Half Nelson.”

A year later, he received Golden Globe, SAG Award and Critics’ Choice Award nominations for his work in the title role of the indie film “Lars and the Real Girl.” In 2011, he landed another Golden Globe nomination, and his third Critics’ Choice Award nomination opposite Michelle Williams in the romance drama “Blue Valentine.”
Ryan will next be seen in the action drama “Drive” which recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival where it was nominated for the Palme D’Or and won the award for Best Director. The film is slated for release this September. And his upcoming films also include “The Ides of March” in which he stars alongside the picture’s writer/director, George Clooney.
Gosling made his feature film debut in 2000 opposite Denzel Washington in the real-life sports saga “Remember the Titans.” But his breakout role arrived the following year in “The Believer,” which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. There, he portrayed a virulent anti-Semite who turned out to be Jewish.

Here, Ryan talks about his current role as playboy Jacob Palmer in the new film, “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” an ensemble comedy co-starring Julianne Moore, Steve Carell, Emma Stone, Kevin Bacon and Marisa Tomei.

Kam Williams: Hi Ryan. Thanks for the opportunity to speak with you.

Ryan Gosling: Thank you, Kam.

KW: I really enjoyed “Crazy, Stupid, Love” as much as your dramatic work.

RG: All right!

KW: I have a lot of questions for you from fans, so why don’t I get right to them. Children’s book author Irene Smalls asks: What interested you in doing this film?

TECH MUNCH: How to Get More Twitter Followers in One Week

Here are ten tips I used to get 2500 Twitter followers in a week without being a verified celebrity (don’t volunteer yourself for this or your every move is tracked by advertisers) :

  • If you see other great stories online worth retweeting then by all means become a voice of authority for top news. Be sure to include your  own twitter URL to get followed back.
  • Share Hashtag tips on a topic you are well versed on. For example, I share #BeautyTips , #AuthorTips. #LiteraryDivas, #BlogNews and #ASKHEATHER motivational tips for writers. Your feed may be picked up by other related news widgets.
  • People tend to talk aloud when responding to promoted or trending tweets. @reply to several new people and one  or more are bound to follow back.
  • Tweet about other people with relevant commentary that intrigues people, but doesn’t offend. For example, I’ll use a celebrity’s name in bold caps and follow with a question and my blog link.
  • Browse for people with like interests and follow them. Most will follow back. Don’t worry if people do not reply back. Most replies are auto replies so if someone is following you DM them to connect better later on.
  • Contrary to belief, alert people on your projects or they’ll never know. You also, may find new fans this way who are motivated to see your progress. Remember, the internet is a place for inspiration. Like minded folks follow each other.
  • Add your Twitter URL to every post since most readers of time lines rarely go into your profile page.
  • Tweet for at least 15 minutes of your day which is not a lot of time. If necessary, break up your tweet sessions into 1 minute intervals throughout the day to stay relevant. People eventually follow relevant people in their lives.
  • Never pretend you know a celebrity or put tehm on the spot via Twitter without them DMing you first or you will come off as a stalker. Any celebrity or renown figure I have ever tweeted has reached out to me via DM.
  • Give #FF Friday follow shoutouts any day of the week to those who just followed you, but remember this may offend other followers who don’t want to see announcements of everyone you are following.
  • If you have a trade profession more than likely someone wants to step in your shoes so they follow you with a dozen accounts and then unfollow. Get used to this. You are not doing anything wrong, but may be doing everything right so they want to see you slow down. It’s a common tactic of business competition. Move onward. Don’t sweat unfollowers. Their loss.
  • One of my test experiments always proves that no one likes a foul mouth person on Twitter ranting about everything. Be cordial.
  • Twitter has auto follow and suggested follow recommends for those who are Verified. These accounts requested to be verified because someone was mimicking their account and I nine out of ten times it’s the celebrity themselves trying to get verified.  Twitter says the Verified system is not offered to the public which means it is a privatized solution for advertisers who buy into Verified and promoted accounts. What’s creepy is that these verified accounts are tracked severely by user location and every move online. It’s a sacrifice for fame, but do anything wrong and the feds will show up at your door. Celebrities prefer verification to participate in programs that pay for their every tweet.
  • NOTE: Popularity is fun for self motivation on a social network, but it doesn’t mean you’ll be successful. It could backlash. Just think of all of the celebs you follow because they are verified and recommended, but have you honestly ever supported them monetarily? Most likely not and so, don’t become a prisoner in the box trying to acquire more followers. To reach your goal of becoming a millionaire, one must apply sustainable  actions that guarantee results offline.
  • The best way to get more Twitter followers is to simply ask your base to follow you via FACEBOOK or your email, but ask yourself this question, can you make money with Twitter followers or simply having people go directly to your website?I used all of the methods above very briefly and  gained 2500 new friends in a few weeks, but I find the whole process very time consuming. I only wrote this post for those who believe Twitter can set off their business. Thus far, I am not verified on the machine so I will never be able to say Twitter made me thus far. The site isn’t a part of my success formula, but it may very well be your success formula. Good luck.

INCREDIBLE ACTION FROM START TO FINISH” …Former scorned cop Brian O’Conner played by actor Paul Walker and Mia  (Jordana Brewster) team up with ex con Dominic Toretta  (Vin Diesel) to steal fast cars and make mega money, but a chip nestled in one takes car thievery to a new level.  Like a scene out of a comic book but better, agents   in route to deport some of the most  luxurious and fastest top secret cars on the market let Brian and his girl pal walk right past them to the back of a high speed locomotive, swap electronic coded keys to get into the anterior of an express train and unload the cars one-by-one.  It’s the most high impact energy ever witnessed in less than 15 minutes in a film, period.

Danish Director Makes Dubious Debut with Brazen Rip-Off of Psychological Thriller

Single White Female (1992) was an intriguing psychological thriller revolving around a young woman’s unhealthy attempt to ingratiate herself with her new roommate to the exclusion of all others. Her increasingly-bizarre behavior gradually escalated over the course of the film from dressing alike and adopting the same hobbies to killing their pet puppy and sabotaging the object of her obsession’s romantic relationship.

Heather Covington Reviews Tyler Perrys For Colored Girls Movie

Kimberly Elise who plays (Crystal) worked herself up the ladder at a magazine company, but her  severe alcoholic  live in boyfriend  and father to her children played by Micheal Ealy as (Beau Willie) becomes  enraged and insanely jealous upon her return home one day in a limo. He presumes it is her male boss who was really (Janet Jackson) Jo. Her failure to say she will marry him leads Micheal Ealy as (Beau Willie)   to severely beat her in front of her kids, and which seems like a  normal course of action  that  has gone on for so long.

Kimberly Elise (Crystal) makes the frightful decision to let her children walk into his arms right after the fight to mend all, but this time he does not apologize and break down as usual, but does the unthinkable making this scene the most shocking of the entire movie, and although predicted from the onset of events.

The problem with many movie goers I heard discussing the movie was that a very graphic scene with kids was exposed to possibly hundreds of thousands of kids who accompanied their families. Many families accustomed to seeing Tyler’s former comedies just didn’t expect this kind of graphic violence and took their kids to see it. As a result, many may have been traumatized by the horrific scene and not trust their adult fathers. After all, Michael Ealy as his father figure role gives the impression that he cares about his kids and why that particular scene was so shocking. However, the movie is properly rated and parents should be more responsible in their decisions so it seems, but how would mother’s affected by domestic abuse who have kids be able to see a movie if they don’t take the children? And how many mothers left their kids at home with their fathers while they went to see the movie with friends? Just something to think about.

Literary Dishcom Reviews Power Video featuring Kanye West

Today Kanye West debuted his new video, POWER, on MTV which received mixed reviews. On one spectrum, the video seems to idolize self-glorification and retribution among angels mixed with sensuality and beautification amid  gravitating female nudity, while others may argue that his still life portrait in motion is nothing more than coveted exploitation of  the female anatomy draped in borderline pornography.

I personally, believe it is one of those dreams young thugs have growing up and Kanye gets to live out his fantasies of being adorned by  dozens of women in a video.I doubt Kanye’ will ever live up to that fantasy in real life because Hip Hop artists often sing about what they wish they could have, but can’t have, but it’s a pretty good song an I would say among the top ten out there.

The scorned Hip Hop star nearly ruined his career to the point of no return at several award shows so it seems, but simultaneously made daily headlines, thus gaining POWER as the most discussed topic of the year. He masterfully built momentum with a iron clad website showcasing his depiction of the world, and  now sheepishly returns as the bad seed of Hip Hop  with an over-sized doped chain dressed in classic everyday hood wear, and exerting his authority in the industry on top of extreme  masculinity without apologies.

“POWER,” is a song everyone thought was just a fly-by -night experiment and reintroduction of a Hip Hop icon fallen from disgrace that has regained its momentum as the undisputed anthem of indeed, HIP HOP POWER. Here’s to Kanye West who’s self-inflicting shrine of POWER may very well be his destiny if he plays his cards right, maintains discipline with his new emergence onto the Twitter community that was dying a slow death of immorality, and if he can continue to give people what they want… and that’s powerful HIP HOP music. Kanye is certainly back and indeed, never left, but this is one of those big comebacks you can’t deny. It’s up to Kanye to handle the power he’s been dealt and people have already started a countdown clock to Kanye’s next  meltdown. I have faith that he is indeed going to claim Elvis’s reign. Do you believe in Kanye?

50 Cent is a Straight Faced Liar in New Movie on DVD- Caught In the Crossfire

Check out how well 50 Cent lies in his role as a snitch in custody of these two cops. They make him show his face as an informant in their cop car to his gang member affiliates so he can never return and now he has to cooperate.

He sounds like a rapper when he’s lying, but the only thing he gives up is the main shooter, Michael Alexander Pips who resorts to burglaries to maintain his lifestyle between getting money for matches in the ring. What a way to fund one’s career, but just think about how many other sports figures alike get caught for past underground dealings they were once involved with before they hit superstardom, but can’t get away from namely Michael Vick. ASK HEATHER: Do you think Halle Berry’s Frankie & Alice movie will get picked up for distribution?

Halle Berry’s film, Frankie & Alice premiered at the Cannes Film Festival not too long ago and received amicable reviews, but why wouldn’t the Oscar winner receive top reviews playing the role of a schizo stripper.

Halle Berry is clearly back as the role reminiscent of the character she played in a Spike Lee  joint as a crack head.

What makes the film interesting to folks is that this Halle Berry post pregnancy and she hasn’t changed one bit. You clearly see that she is as serious actress as she began her career.

After a few hit and miss films like Cat Woman folks are anticipating that the film will get picked up by theaters, but it may happen although folks may typecast her role as a stereotypical depiction of another black woman like in the movie Precious.

Regardless, movie goers tend to flock to films that exhibit the demoralization of the black woman, because right now most images are so strong from Oprah to Michelle Obama, these roles can only humanize real life experiences of the side of a small segment of black women we’re afraid to see.

Just recently, Maia Campbell, the daughter of the late Bebe Moore Campbell, was the center of controversy and openly discussed by her mother in her books in regards to a daughter with split personality disorder.

I applaud Halle Berry for throwing herself into the barrel to portray yet another personality absent from films because folks are so narrow-minded they can’t face the truth about people they know.

It’s no secret, Kam Williams and Heather Covington are the nation’s top 2 most respected multi-media reviewers who go by many  names by default but the sincerest in the crtic’s circle. For some reason, even if folks disagree with reviews by these prominent reviewers whose critic sessions have been featured in over 5000 media outlets, you’ll never see pop shots online about the just modern day Siskel & Ebert. Kam Williams is a lawyer and Heather a nationally certified reading specialist and critically acclaimed historian whom both have been passive with combatting each other with reviews until now.

Tyler Perry & Company in Bahamas for Battle-of-the-Sexes Sequel

For years, four very close couples, friends since college, have been taking an annual vacation together to luxurious getaway spots to reconnect, reminisce, and reflect on the state of their marital relationships. Their previous reunion at a Colorado ski lodge proved very eventful, especially for the emotionally-abused Sheila (Jill Scott), who eventually summoned up the courage to dump her openly-unfaithful husband, Mike (Richard T. Jones), a creep brazen enough to bring his mistress along.

Leonard Albert Kravitz was born in New York City on May 26, 1964 to actress Roxie Roker, and Sy Kravitz, a news producer at NBC-TV. An only child, Lenny was raised on the Upper East Side of Manhattan until the family moved to Los Angeles when his late mother landed the role of Helen on the television sitcom “The Jeffersons.”

He developed a love of music at an early age, playing both drums and guitar by the time he was 5. After dropping out of Beverly Hills High School at the age of 15, Lenny straightened his hair and donned blue contact lenses to create a new persona, Romeo Blue. But he only hit it big after going natural and back to his real name and irises for the release of his debut album, “Let Love Rule.” A 4-time Grammy-winner, Lenny’s hits include “Let Love Rule,” “Fly Away” and “American Woman,” to name a few.

He and his ex-wife, Cosby kid Lisa Bonet, have one daughter, Zoe, an aspiring actress whose next flick, Twelve, will be released in the Fall. Here, Lenny talks about making his acting debut in Precious, where he played John, an empathetic nurse who befriends the beleaguered title character.

     Valentine’s Day

     Film Review by Kam Williams

Unoriginal Romantic Comedy Squanders Bounty of A-List Stars

If you’ve seen Love Actually (2003), then you have a decent idea of what director Garry Marshall was aiming for with Valentine’s Day, a shameless rip-off with none of the charm of the delightful romantic comedy it so desperately seeks to emulate. The original, set in London during the Christmas season, engagingly explored an array of both lighthearted and sobering relationship issues through the prism of 10 couples in conflict. The essence of Love Actually’s appeal lay in the deceptive fashion in which its endearing characters were introduced, developed and serendipitously intertwined en route to a satisfying payoff.
