Sade Returns And Ignites New Baby Boom Fans With Just One Song

Three words that come to mind when R&B crooners and new Generation X music lovers listen to Sade is “Sultry, Sexy and  Sensational!” At 50 years young,  the beautiful Sade shows she hasn’t missed a step. Soldier of Love the premiere worldwide hit song release of her new album in stores everywhere right now, Soldier of Love, is an ecclectic and soulful mix of soulful drums amid heavy base that swoons listeners ears into captivity against along with Sade’s authoritative voice.

LiteraryDish.com Saturday Music Dish of the Week- More Than Love by Amerie

Amerie’ s new album, In Love & War arrived with no promotion from Def Jam at all except sporadic lifeless banners of Amerie disguised behind angelic artwork on blogs that didn’t seem to even support the artist. You sensed it across the board, but I have been a true supporterof Amerie’s music from day one. I felt bad that consumers matched the dull campaign by Amerie’s camp with less than 100,000 sales in the first week, and considered a dismal debut for an album filled with  heavy hitters from Trey Songz to Fabolous.  She begins her album with an I’m back number and folks are saying she never arrived after the one track hit wonder of her last album featuring the hit, One Thing.  I think there are a lot of hot tracks on her past albums and this new album, but the problem is when you put out a heavy produced hit like ONE THING it is hard to match that.  It earned 2 million in album sales, but then it appears as if a recent new cut took  a pop shot at Beyonce.’   We thought Amerie was an angel and now she  returns like one on her artwork.

In my opinion, with a melodramatic voice boasting  a powerful , Amerie now  needs swagger and controversy to  boost sales and maybe she does it with her latest video duet with Fabolous on More Than Love about to go international in UK. The folks over there love Amerie. We should love Amerie since her name sounds like America, but nooooo, she’s a goodie two shoes and like Chris Brown said doesn’t have swagger in a radio interview and it’s an honest assessment from a young man who represents most guys his age and what they might think as well. After all, Amerie   doesn’t seem to have had any relationship issues to match this gut wrenching album.

So  now you can expect a transition and sales as rumors fly that there is chemistry between Amerie and Fabolous. The question to draw interest,  Is Fabolous and Amerie a romantic item? Who knows, but if she wants folks to pay attention to this new album which I admit is well produced, but just like I said is missing hype than she might as well start the hype by getting caught dating all of the men on her album. The name of the album is In Love & War so the bring on the war!  Come on Amerie we need some drama here in media to help out this album. You are signed to Def Jam. Better call Rihanna to give you some pointers whose album is back up in sales now that she’s been caught  admiring Justin Beiber. Gold figure.  All in all, I should be getting paid to be a music consultant.

The Element of Failure or Success: The Alicia Key’s Album Review + Bonus Album Preview Sponsored by AOL

The Element of Failure or Success: The Alicia Key’s Album Review

The Element of Freedom begins with a brief poem inspired by Maya Angelou that intertwines with a neo-soul modern day psychedelic funk groove track bringing out the raspy  side of Alicia Keys  vocals in “Love is Blind.”

The tone is set  like a beautiful poetical symphony as the song blends into the next chart topper already spinning on airwaves, “Doesn’t Mean Anything.”While a free flowing song of hope from romance lost, there is a touch of sadness and regret that penetrates the listeners ears like shock treatment. Alicia Key’s mellow voice is built for  this heart-pounding song. It might be one of her greatest songs of all time. She unapologetically captures you for the rest of the cd as the lyrics of ” Try Sleeping with A Broken Heart” pull you through her story of romance lost, found and in limbo.

“Wait Until You See Me Smile,” continues with strong vocals and piano accompaniment warning listeners to not let negativity get you down. This is certainly the song to get folks on their feet at concerts. Your heart beats with each lyric and  strong percussion.

“That’s How Strong My Love Is” reminds me of an old school track, “Tender Love,” but from a female’s perspective. “Unthinkable” is Alicia Keys most mellow track on the album, but it solidifies her trademark sound and ability to harmonize with any music and  make it sheer perfection.

“Love is My Disease”  and “Like the Sea” sort of reflect her opening track theme, but both  are worthwhile listens  infused with just a hint of Carribean flair and pop. The lyrics are what matters for these tracks.
”Put it In a Love Song” with Beyonce’ changes the pace with a Lumidee inspired beat I have heard in uptown New York pumping from car radios. Alicia and Beyonce’ continue the Latin inspired uptown beat movement and I love it. Respect.

“This Bed” is so 1980’s inspired, but upbeat and intoxicating, while “Distance and Time” is a definite Lenny Kravitz, “Let Love Rule,” influenced song ballad.  This one is my favorite from the entire album and “How it Feels to Fly.” Alicia’s album is a winner.  Buy it as a gift for someone you love this holiday.

Grafiti by Chris Brown- A Disilgold SOUL Magazine Worldwide Exclusive Music Review

A Redeemed Man is Chris Brown

The long anticipated  music album, Grafitti, executively produced by Chris Brown, Tina M. Davis and Mark Pitts , arrived in stores nationwide on December 8th with two versions, a dual cd and dvd album and cd album only. Stores pushed the dual cd upfront with a $19.00 price tag, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Chris Brown’s youngest fans arriving after school did not know to request the cd  priced only at $9.99. The $9.99 price tag is what music stores now offer in New York on day one as an incentive for buying a new album on its release date.

Of course, die hard fans of Hip Hop buy their  Hip Hop cds first. Snoop Dog and 50 Cent  were capped neck to neck at no.1 and no.2 . A good turn out in full album cds is about 80,000 to 100,000.    This is the standard nowadays. Chris Brown easily sold 100,000 cds on day one which means he will sell a million or more before the holidays. There is a range of classic songs from almost every genre such as POP,  Soul RnB, Techno, Hip Hop infused with Swiss Beatz touch, trademark  love ballads and a few cuts to give Timbaland a run for his money. The range is so ecclectic and blends so well, it’s hard to believe that this album was just produced.

Grafitti pours out top hits back to back like  “I can Transform Ya” with Lil Wayne that took a while to grow on me, but is a solid hit that can’t be denied, “Crawl” is a commerical favorite among listeners  with  hypnotic lyrics, “So Cold” is a great song of redemption for this artist beautifully arranged track with light and sentimental piano accompaniment, “What I do” featuring Plies is one for the clubs and an undeniable anthem for fun times,  ”Famous” is dangerously personal and a rocker,”Take My Time” featuring Tank uses sexy drums and percussion to simulate an RnB hit reminiscent of a good ole’ Jodeci  vibe, but all his own and could mark his new signature sound for future albums, “I.Y.A.” is that MTV cut that will soar to number one faster than all of the other hits as a universal track, “Pass Out” with Eva Simons is one for the clubs and a head banger, “What” featuring  Trey Songz is right on time with this new Techno Rap vibe, “Lucky Me”  is a favorite because it starts with an African inspired touch that solidifies this  artist as someone who will be around for sometime, “Fallen” is definitely a Michael jackson inspired track with crossover appeal and of course, “I’ll Go” makes a personal statement that is so sentimental it’s a tear jerker.  He says if “He doesn’t come back your love was worth it!” With a range of artists like Esther Dean, Trey Songz, Ryan Leslie, Jermaine Jackson, James Jones, Tank, The Game, Eva Simons and Teyana Taylor, Chris Brown has got the world’s forgiveness in the “Palm of his hand.”

Chris Brown’s album hands down is clean, solid, easy to listen to, has a happy vibe filled with sentiment, flows with original beats and lyrical power embedded with gut wrenching top ballads making him a top contender for a Grammy next year. A redeemed man is Chris Brown and he’s back!

JUST IN: Chris Brown New Single Famous is Ruled a Solid Hit On the Way to the Disappointment of Rihannas fans

Oh no! Chris Brown has released 4 solid hits that are hard to dislike thus far and kind of even as far as appeal with Rihanna’s album  which leaked four cuts before release. He’s determined to make a comeback and may get his way. Even his enemies like this song I found on YOUTUBE. Listen before his record company takes it down! It’s their job to remove it! Now all Rihanna has to do is land on an immediate issue of VIBE post release of cover with Chris Brown and an official WAR OF THE ROSES has begun in front of America’s eyes. Exciting to see these two love birds kick each others ass in album sales. And- don’t believe the hype, Rihanna is number one overseas and that’s really all that counts! No one buys albums in America!

Video Dish: Does Beyonce’ And Lady Gaga VIDEO PHONE Collaboration make the Cut?

by Heather Covington “The Literary Heat”

www.disilgold.com

As a reviewer, I never thought I would see the day that such a sexy song like, Video Phone,  with mega-hit potential by Beyonce’ would be accompanied with so many themes  in a video production by Hype Williams at once. All I could ask was “WHY? WHY” WHY?” Beyonce’ doesn’t need to show off her body and dance and dress like a tramp in this video. All she needed to do for this video was simply sit down with some clothes on and sing. I have admired  Hype Williams’  video direction of great artists from  Janet Jackson and Missy Elliot to Busta Rhymes, but he ISHED up Beyonce’s hit song with this one.

This video was supposed to be relaunched in a new edition of I AM SASHA slated for November 23 which coincidentally premieres same week of  Rihanna’s Rated R. People walking into stores are bound to pick up both albums from these artists from sheer boredom of current albums out by some female artists that just don’t deliver. Perhaps, a sexy DVD video with Beyonce’s new edition will pull in some sales from truckers on the I95 commute, but I am sure her young fans are not amused by the over produced VIDEO PHONE video that they’ll have to sneak a peek while their parents aren’t watching.

The entire production is like overkill and probably repulses even the guys who crave female sensuality because Lady Gaga is trying too hard to be sexy like Beyonce’.  The video leaves nothing to the imagination and where are the fine men in the video? Did Jay-Z block them from auditioning? No one wants to see Lady Gaga and Beyonce’ dancing together.

Disilgold.com- Prediction: Chris Brown & Rihanna will get Married in 5 Years and Wendy Williams will be Godmother of their Children!

LiteraryDish.com Article  by Heather “The Literary HEAT” Covington

www.disilgold.com

rihanna2

Chris Brown landed an interview on the Wendy Williams Show this past week which put her show ratings at the top with folk’s awaiting anxiously to hear Chris Brown’s side of the story post Rihanna’s candid 20/20 interview. Thus far, some  folks felt that Chris Brown did not deserve an interview after allegations of abuse toward Rihanna. Others feel Wendy was gracious to give the singer air time and a chance to revive his music career which seemed to plummet after pics of him with a derrogatory chain saying “OOPS”  reported as a pop shot toward Rihanna surfaced.

Other talk show hosts questioned his sincerity like Oprah and even Tyra who had the singer on her show ( You can see my neice NYAJA on that show being pulled into the audience by Chris Brown himself)  but went right on Oprah to warn victims of domestic abuse to not return to the relationship.   Now Rihanna and Chris Brown both  have albums coming out back to back.  Rihanna’s “Rated R” album which I feel should have been entitled  ”The Wait is Ova” is scheduled for release this month and many of Chris Brown’s songs have been leaked onto the net with moderate fanfare.  Ironically, not a single parent can complain about Rihanna’s racy album with a title like “Rated R” challenging responsibility of parents themselves. Forget the explicit lyrics sticker. The album speaks for itself.

One  song by Chris Brown,” Crawl,” premiered on Wendy Williams.  Reminds me of a good ole’ classic ballad Chris Brown style that you get used to until you crave it. The kid has vocals sincere or not.   His album “Graffiti” is due in stores 12/8 just  10 days after Rihanna’s release  of Rated R,  due Nov. 23. Teens are on a budget and many can only buy one album a month so it will be a test to see which album teens buy if they can only get one album for the holidays. The album also, appeals to adults. I particularly like the song Hard.

Indeed, Rihanna’s song titles and lyrics seem to  conveniently speak at Chris such as “Wait Your Turn,” in the song “The Wait is Ova,” and the titled track ”Russian Roulette.” Who will surpass each other in sales? I am starting to wonder if the two were competitive forces. to begin with. This is the first time I am anxious to buy both artist’s cds.  Regardless,  her live premiere of  “The Wait is Ova” aired in London to the world.

Rihanna launches new album with Nokia

By JBC on 05 November 2009

Nokia-RihannaLONDON, England – November 16 will see a ground-breaking deal come to life when singing sensation Rihanna launches her new album with a live, streamed, concert exclusively with Nokia. In partnership with Island Def Jam Music Group and Universal Music Group, Nokia.com will play host to Rihanna performing a select number of tracks from her new album, live for the first time. Rihanna’s new album, Rated R will be performed in front of an exclusive audience in London, streamed online and at simultaneous listening parties around the world. The launch also coincides with the global availability of the Nokia X6.

What’s more, Comes with Music subscribers will be able to download an exclusive version of Rated R, including a bonus track and remix for free as part of their subscription.

This unique collaboration is the first of its kind and brings together new music, the Comes with Music Service and Nokia Music Store. Nokia will also be producing an exclusive Rihanna application and exclusive footage from her london gig which will be made available through the Ovi Store.

Thus far, it looks like Rihanna’s career picks up where  legendary great Michael Jackson left off. Rihanna is more eccentric then ever and add a punk rock flair and the Good Girl Gone Bad is one her way to billions. I hear a little bit of Janet Jackson’s raspy edge in her voice. Not inviting Janet Jackson to show the world who the original pop diva is, but it makes for a return of JJ and some more female music contenders in an arena slowly becoming saturated by the male singers.  This week alone, Drake and Kanye were top downloads.

What I find fascinating is that Wendy Williams sparked some interest in both Chris Brown and Rihanna’s album as far as the controversial  aftermath. Not many media resources were willing to book Chris in fear of advertisers pulling out of ads due to right wing groups who will ban any product in suppport of abuse, killing animals for fur products and anything offensive. they aren’t just activists, they are liek militia groups. Don’t get caught alive with fur caught in New York. Warning.

To add more fuel to the anticipation of the artist’s albums about to go viral,  Chris Brown TWITTER name is Mechanical Dummy and he clearly got Wendy Williams attention by twitting that he “saw a  guy at the airport  who looked like  Wendy Williams or maybe the other way around, LOL.”  I remember this almost exactly as Chris jokingly stated. Wendy was so infuriated that she responded to the 20 something singer like she was ready to start her own beef. She commented back to the extent of Chris bullying other men at least and not the women. They both gave low blows, but she still booked him on her show. Wendy Williams  steals away with top ratings and gets her show renewed for 1 more season ( the cap for any show these days) and as expected, and Chris Brown gets to sing his new song, Crawl, and evoke sympathy from the crowd for whooping Rihanna for no reason as she stated, blacking out and almost choking her lifeless and even if Rihanna claims she never blacked out as cops stated to help out Chris Brown whome I think she would like to see succeed.

My only problem with the two is that I think they are feeding off of each other’s negativity. Rihanna pops at him on 20/20 and he pops back at Rihanna on MTV and now Wendy Williams. I truly feel that his words of his songs are sarcastic, too. That Transform you song sounds like a pop shot at Rihanna. Nevertheless, I believe their frustration, tension and anger will build to a climatic volcano since neither trust anyone at this point because they couldn’t trust each other in a relationship. So in 5 years when Chris Brown probation is over the two will only CRAWL back to each other since their careers are catapulting being apart. I predict marriage, kids and more.

I also, predict media is ready to devour the two from here on out out of extreme jealousy. Right now they have the world and media on lock down. God bless them both.

MUSIC DISH: Rihannas Art Work for Her Album May Be Too Risque

wait-your-turn1

by Heather “The Literary Heat” Covington- www.disilgold.com

It is obvious at this point that Rihanna’s album is not geared toward young kids, but of course with all of the  controversy lately kids will be buying her album.  People are so desperate for the Rihanna story she is not getting grilled on the porn content of her cover and explicit language of  lyrics in songs like Russian Roulette. Her incident with Chris Brown may enable her to walk right past controversy and diffuse attention on what should be of focus like this naked art work someone sent to me today.

Video Dish: Who are the Top 10 Ladies in Music About to Take Over?

Lately, I have been searching the net for new music by the ladies of RnB from classic to rising stars and it seems like everywhere I turn there is some  media knocking down rising  femme’ fatale  music stars of today with sexist remarks, harsh criticism  and bad reviews by  putting them in a box as video vixens, wanna be stars, non-singers, tramps, backstage groupies  or exposing other people’s negativity and rumors in comment boxes trailing interviews, and  that have nothing to do with the artist’s work, but bring controversy and more hate.   We have seen this backlash happen to Lil Kim, Cassie and  Rihanna to name a few. For the ladies in music, success is a painful journey and I wish it didnt have to be this way.

While I am not one to dabble into these artists personal lives because what they do behind closed doors is their business,  in due time what’s done in the dark eventually does surface in the light. If it hasn’t yet, than it’s clear that an artist is receiving backlash from media because they are talented  and if they got caught up later on, it’s because people in their camp calculated to bring them down and why  excellent management is so important.   Suddenly, this commentary from folks’ feedback disguised as haters and sometimes other black balling industry execs and jilted ex-lovers who will dress up as avatars to destroy a female artist on networks,  is interpreted as failure and an artist’s album is pushed back, but when the artist rises back to the top with a collaboration that takes off,   suddenly these fake media resources  are  supporting them when they literally  go DISILGOLD,  and for those who don’t know what that means, that’s DIAMOND, SILVER & GOLD!  www.disilgold.com, an amicable tribute to DisilgoldSOULS.

Some musicians fall prey to giving in to being nice to these media resources who punk them because they are afraid they will be torn up into pieces. I will say it again as I have said before, no media can make up, break you or take you. Each media community has established its own trusted base and so, their influence only impresses upon that network. If those people in any network are not for an artist they weren’t there from the beginning, but trust there are millions more people who will support.

A true trooper doesn’t give in to mediocrity, but keeps working to the top defying all reasonable doubt of success.  It’s like this one singer I thought the world of, but she gave this lame interview with an upstart magazine   exposing her sexual promiscuity which is tacky  and I I knew the publication wasn’t in support of her because I saw a bad post  from staff months before and it just made me lose respect for the artist whose representation of herself only exposed her talent for showing off her ass. This artist is no longer around.

If someone made up a rumor about me and I was asked a question in an interview about  it, I would not only walk out of the interview session, but I would take on a media campaign  to ban that publication and make it go out of business for bringing negativity my way! Ask someone how many interviews I have rejected and then put up a picture online  like one particular pic on my myspace page that truly  adopts the TYRA  phrase, “ KISS MY PHAT ASS”. Hope folks didn’t think I was being cute.  In business you have to have a thick skin because folks, no matter  what people will take into account what other haters say and form a perception of your character regardless,  the smartest business women  know how to capitalize from their own success, physical features and assets instead of letting a sexist male dominated industry at times exploit them and even though many men are not sexist the majority are.   The ladies in music are learning how to get paid without selling house. And no longer are we letting men who don’t even like women pit us against one another like in a boxing ring. It’s a trick.

The ladies must make a comeback because music sales are hitting an all time low.  If I am not running out daily to buy a music cd as a diehard music listener, than something is wrong.  Female consumers  represent the highest in consumer sales. If they don’t come out to buy a product it’s not selling unless it’s a top video game or girlie girl publication for the fellows. Even ESPN bared Serena Williams in the flesh on their cover to boost their sales and it worked.    It is obvious which media really support music artists these days from those media freak impesarios who have major issues and I have to say are extemely jealous of the female music artists.  They don’t want them to succeed like a Beyonce’ because then there isn’t any money for their projects. This behavior is not supporting the ladies at all who bring folks into the stores.

In my opinion,  some media don’t want any other media sharing insight on an artists and are like control freaks.  It’s making some consumers turn away from artists as well who grant exclusive  interviews with some conglomerate media entities as opposed to sharing insight with a variety of resources. Being a succesful music artist takes  reaching out to as many media communities and networks as possible because once the fire dies it is gone and communities interpret this as if they don’t count to an artist. That equals NO SALES!”

You  either  support an artist or you don’t. It’s like an intern reviewer I  was thinking of hiring , but  who I had to let go who sent me a review of a music artist I really think had great potential. My staff posted it and sent it to all media  when I was on tour and I wasn’t aware of the post syndicated on my MYSPACE blog at the time which I entrusted this  intern to load on all new reviews. You had to see the horror in my eyes when I noticed the music reviews.  The Literary HEAT was suposed to be a team of reviewers at first as a former EUR writer who had folks sending me their direct  feedback by the hundreds, but soon I singled out with my solo debut as ” The Literary HEAT” because I won’t let anyone make a name for themselves trashing folks on  purpose. You got to love yourself to be a reviewer. No haters on purpose or by accident allowed on this ship. You’ve got reviewers and then you got haters. The artists need to stop following haters for respect. You may get in front of an audience, but without true support it’s like stepping into hell.

As a media personality I feel that to support other female artists with respect you have to be secure about  your own image or people aren’t going to really feel that artist no matter what you post.  Some interviews and music reviews I have been reading have done more damage then they are worth and as a result you find artist’s albums being pushed back or not taken seriously. Then you see how sales are stuck on stupid with the low 100,000 range instead of 500,000 units sold because an artist simply came off as lame.

This is my mission for both the music and literary industry per top artist so without further adieu let’s reveal the TOP 10 female music artists  who are about to go hard  and folks can’t say a thing because I’m not approving any critic’s  comments until at least 10 solid posts for my eyes only  show  posters are not  haters, but are intellectual critics.  Avid readers and music listeners are welcomed to post, but I only request you reveal your alter-ego name and real avatar because I can call any celeb in a minute to verify and it’s not nice to impersonate a celebrity. It’s not about you, it’s about serving the community with your feedback, so don’t even think of advertising in the comment boxes either unless you’re a member of course, but most folks like how I advertise them well enought.  Even if you disagree with my TOP 10  I am sure folks will be buying the albums of these artists because  ladies need music that reflect themselves and the men don’t have any images to respect in the game.  It’s time for the ladies  in music to shine and take over in a male dominated industry because they know they love us and now it’s time to respect us!

I got a request in my inbox to review this song when the words were 5 STAR BITCH. I gave it kudos, but did mention it would fair better with cleaned up lyrics and I must say the results are top notch. 5 Star Chick is fine with me and add Nicki Minaj and Trina, truely in this Hip Hop game for the long run as you’ll see and these ladies in music are winning.

Mya is truly an epitome of grace who received a lot of backlash, but no one can take away her talent and background in dance and singing. With the right tracks and beats I always said there would be a return. Well judge for yourself. I have been listening to Mya since the days she debuted my fav song, Ghetto Supastar with Wyclef. I truly like her ‘I’m Back song.’ It’s so hood!  She is finding her voice and if it’s ghetto then let it be!

Here is Teyanna Taylor aka Lil Swag performing to her own hit and what’s so special about the pint size singer is that she dances like a giant  with  precise moves all her own in the league of Janet Jackson. And that is a huge compliment because to see Janet Jackson perform is why no one can knock down the artist. Yes, some of those moves incorporated into Teyann’as dance number are variations of the dances in the hood already out there, but it’s how you put it all together. The shimmy shake was actually an En Vogue move from way back and “the cowboy and lasso move” is hot in reggae clubs right now. The soul train move gets a twist with shorter moves that transition with 1-2 steps, and so the choreographer has indeed created something unique  that I am stating for the record is now a Teyanna Taylor Brand.

Keri Hilson has such an array of music she’s an unstoppable force who is only going to continue getting larger. The reason why I have supported Keri from day one was when I saw a video of her with her mom and that video said it all about her character. A humble giant who I am sure the industry has shook up with disappointments, she can only turn that negativity into productivity and take over. There will be many popshots, but that’s what happens when you’re good at what you do. She’s a performer, singer and down to earth individual simply said.

I find it thrilling to realize that the only musician I have followed on REVERBNATION is MCLYTE, the one and only. Just shows that I know true hip hop talent. I wanted to be there to witness the return of the greatest female lyricist eventhough her time was consumed with gig after gig. A girl has got to eat.  Now she’s here and better than ever, but  wait a minute, now she’s been scooped up as Vice President of Dubose Entertainment and that can only mean she will be able to open doors for others. However, MC LYTE needs to open her own door and make that new album happen first.  If so, she is taking over. Listen to this video of some old jams featuring MC LYTE.

I know it is hard to believe that Kandi wrote 3-4 songs from Destiny’s Child debut album that carried the group to the top before splitting with original members. Talented as she wants to be, the former Excape member is going solo and by the looks of it her new release, Fly Above, may win her a new Grammy. Thus far, it is on my myspace.com/HeatherCovington and I am not tired of the song yet.. a true sign of a banger for music listeners ears for the long run. I mean you have hits and then you have timeless hits with that flair like an old R. Kelly song you have to support. Amerie’s album has been pushed back so many times that I think this is it. Folks have been anticipating a new album and I think this time it is going to fly. Amerie has her angel wings on and she’s ready to take off. Listen to her share her optimistic new found attitude beyond all regrets and catch a glimpse of her latest hit, WHY R U. Folks are certainly ready for Amerie to make a return.

Diddy is known to take chances with groups and very often it is up to the group to make it happen. Dawn Richards and Kaleen have certainly got themselves a banger. Some folks will say what did Diddy do here forming this duo, but don’t forget he is part of the group so that makes it a trio. This is the only group I think Diddy actually belongs and doesn’t seem out of place. In fact, I love this combination of Bad Girls vs. the Bad Boy. It works. I would bet my money that this group will take over airwaves, but I will let Diddy make that bet and hopefully pay Disilgold homage if it happens because I am declaring DIRTY MONEY a bonafide hit maker group. They also, don’t fit the stereotypical image of what female musicians should look like. They are themselves and sporting true style in the game. Dirty Money is one BAD GIRL group that rocks! Go ahead and set it off!

When I heard It’s Okay by Chrisette Michele way back I said this lady is going to topple the music industry. And in due time, Chrisette Michele has earned her keep as a household name by word of mouth. See the video for yourself. I hear this southern twang that is so mello and reminds me of a modern day Billy Holiday and Nina Simone all in one. Her clean cut smooth voice is the business for the CEOs on the commute. Everyone is listening to Chrisette Michelle.

For those of you who don’t know, I took my business over at www.Disilgold.com to a whole new level after hearing news of Aaliyah’s fateful death after a tragic airplane crash while making the video, Rock the Boat.  I think every person in life has admired one music artist they could relate to.

For my grandparents era it was Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick and  Nancy Wilson. For my mother’ s era it was Diana Ross., Gladys Knight, Patti Labelle and Chaka Khan. For me there weren’t many singers whose music spoke to me as a young woman because I often can tell when an artist is truly feeling a song and means the words they sing and not just trying to put a hit out for money.
